Facilities

We have two large open plan lounge areas and a bright, sunny orangery, with no change of level on either floor. The design of the building creates a safe, warm and homely atmosphere whilst still remaining bright and spacious. The lay out of our lounge areas enables our ladies and gentlemen to feel both part of the community of the Home whilst at the same time enjoying an element of privacy and a sense of their ‘own space’ due to the thoughtfully located partitioning and overall structure of these rooms. The design also enables staff to both see and hear activity throughout these areas so helping them react quickly should someone need urgent assistance.

All our bedrooms are single occupancy with 30 out of the 35 having en-suite facilities. They are designed and furnished to a very high standard. We have created a ‘home from home’ environment whilst at the same time providing a space where our clients can receive both personal and professional care.

We have recently installed a new wet room which, along with our existing bathrooms, provides a comfortable space for all our clients to bathe and shower with the assistance from our care staff.

We have a fully functioning commercial kitchen from which we provide high quality home cooking using fresh, local produce. We also have a commercial laundry facility and provide a complete laundry service.

Alandale has a medication room, together with medication trolleys from which we store and administer all medication for all clients. We take responsibility for all aspects of medication including ordering, administering and disposing. 

We have a nurse call system in operation, which can be activated from the many pull cords situated throughout the Home, including each bedroom, en-suite and all public areas including WC’s and bathrooms.

The care plan for each client, including any risk assessments, is stored and updated with the Home’s cloud based record keeping system. All staff may access each client and record all information regarding their well being, including food and fluid intake, weight, likes and dislikes etc.

The Home has recently installed a comprehensive WiFi system resulting in a strong signal being available in all rooms.
