Today we held a very fun and busy coffee morning for Macmillan cancer, lots of fun had by all and we would just like to say from the bottom of our hearts to everyone that baked, bought, got raffle tickets , made donation’s and turned up thank you together we all raised £630.24 !!!!!!!!! This is our best fund raiser to date !!!!!! We are so proud and you should be too

What a week so far !!!!! The ice cream man came and cooled us all with his delights, the guinea pigs made us all smile and then Kiki & Coco the clowns were in town.. what fun and madness was had by all!

Easter 2025!
This week at Alandale we started to get ready for Easter , decorating our window , while the sun was out a few of us took advantage and went for little walks around the village, then we made Easter cards for one another . Painted Easter 
chicks and rabbits . Then today bingo followed by Easter cookie decorating , little patsy Anne joined us for this one ! It’s all been happening

Lots going on at the Home this month! We’ve had a visit from Deal Ukulele Club, the guinea pigs came to see us again, very popular with our ladies and gentlemen. We’ve had Paula’s sweets ‘n treats, puzzles, paper flower making and good old bingo!!

Another great week at Alandale, quiz, guess the theme tune? nails. A lovely visit from baby Jimmy and a masterclass from our lovely residents (and matron) for us to try and learn a bit of knitting… we won’t say how it went

Bathroom Upgrade
We are so pleased with our new upgraded bath and hairdressing facility following the incorporation of an adjoining WC into a larger space, which as you can see, has now been completely refurbished.
Alandale Residential Home – Investing for the Future
Alandale Residential Home’s new roof now proudly supports sixty-nine solar panels to supply the Home with green energy that is both more affordable and great for the environment. “The new WiFi thermostat central heating system will also enable us to tailor specific, individual temperatures within the Home that suit each of our ladies and gentlemen” stated Paul Maple, Registered Provider. He went on to say “Older people are more likely to feel the cold, so keeping Alandale at just the right temperature makes a big difference in creating a warm, welcoming environment”.

What a fantastic afternoon! Lovely that the sun shone and many thanks to Ryan for supplying the live music entertainment.
The girls did a wonderful job laying on a delicious spread with plenty to eat, drink and be merry! Three cheers for the Queen in celebration of her Diamond Jubilee!

Lots of fun this afternoon playing games. Hoopla, guess how many sweets in the jar, dice. Prizes for highest scores in dice and closest guess on the sweets in the jar!

Christmas Party!!
The Alandale Christmas Party is to be held on Friday 6th December from 5pm to 7pm. This year Barry Goss will be providing the musical entertainment and as always there will be a full buffet & drinks provided and the children will be able to visit Santa in his grotto too! Please feel free to come along, everyone is welcome! Such an occasion is also a good time for anyone wishing to have a look round the Home, to come in and experience the atmosphere of Alandale. Would anyone wishing to do this please ask for someone to show the round when they arrive.

One of our senior staff, Paula, came up with the great idea of a ‘sweets ‘n treats’ trolley. These are provided free of charge to our residents and as can be seen from the photos, has proved very popular!

We are holding our summer party, combined with an open evening, on Friday 12th July ’19 from 5pm to 7pm. Martin ‘The Crooner’ will be providing the live musical entertainment and a delicious buffet will be laid on.

We held our annual Cup Cake Day today to raise money for a very worthy cause, Alzheimer’s UK. There were an abundance of delicious cakes and lots of lovely prizes in the raffle! We are extremely pleased to have raised a total of £364! Huge thanks to everyone who baked, donated and turned up on the day to support us, we really do appreciate it!
